Wow that looks bad 😮

My 2022 Outback Wilderness was rear-ended in a construction zone at something over 50mph. It sits a little higher so the striking vehicle (2023 Malibu) actually went under it a bit. Otherwise, my car and this test vehicle looked a lot a like. In its final hiway moments, the Subaru pulled itself over to the shoulder (with real wheels dragging), and I was greeted by Subaru Of America, asking me if I had been in an automobile accident, if I was injured, and if I would like them to call 911. Yes, please. I walked away with minor injuries - no whiplash. I purchased another one. Two years newer, same color.

Would have been better if the test could have both vehicles in motion at same speed... The tranfer of energy by trailblazer can be felt and seen on Accord..but it dtill held very well.. Wonder if both were in motion .. trailblazer would have rolled over and impact vould have been at different level..

At that speed, it performed better than I thought it would.

This makes me sad as an Avalon owner, but at the same time, a friend of mine was rearended in her Taurus and anyone in the back seat would’ve been dead as it was crumpled up like this

THAT'S how a bumper is supposed to work!! Not cracking into 100 pieces of plastic bits, while the rear end of the vehicle collapses in 3 feet!! New bumper, and a couple rear doors, good as new, NOT TOTALED!!!

Wow, Saab really was ahead of it's time, this really does look very very good for a car of this era. Thank goodness for Saab and Volvo and all their wonderful work in this area, so sad Saab is no longer here, a great shame

would it be possible to fix the car and get it back on the road since the windows didn’t break and there wasn’t much damage to the a pillar?

Either they are using thinner cheaper windshields or the airbags have too much air in them 😵

i haven't seen a passenger airbag break the windshield like that in a while!
